EcoReview offers manufacturers insight into the impact of their products. By means of LCA studies EcoReview advises on choosing (eco)logical alternatives.

Why

Gain insight into the production hotspots, the obtaining an EPD, recording it in NMD and then it can product are applied in project calculations. In addition can the results be used for marketing purposes.

How

EcoReview is a young dynamic organization, with short lines and fast project turnaround times thanks to a streamlined data collection. EcoReview is independent and can therefore be used for any investigation, be it Simapro or Ecochain is applying the necessary calculation tool. In addition we operate internationally with customers all over the world and we speak several languages (English, German, Spanish, Dutch).

1. Strategize

Determine goal of the study (NMD / EPD / insights in hotspots), determine scope (cradle to factory gate, cradle to grave, cradle to cradle) and determine LCA method (NMD Bepalingsmethode, EN15804+A2/ PEF 3.0).

2. Life cycle inventory

Data collection of suppliers (preferably with an EPD), types of transport methods used and of the usages for production processes.

3. Modelling

Create the model based on the determined strategy and inventory, using the best fitting tools that suit the needs of the client.

4. Reporting

Based on the selected methodology, the emissions to the environment, resulting from the inventory analysis are characterized to determine the environmental impacts on the product/project. This is documented in an LCA report according to the ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 and other applicable LCA reporting standards (relevant to product).

5. Review

The LCA is reviewed and verified by an accredited 3rd party verifier, Recognized by the NMD or MRPI (or other ECO-Platform program operators).

6. Publish

Once the LCA is verified, the results can be adapted in the NMD or an EPD can be registered.

Although EcoReview will have its 10th anniversary in June 2021 celebrated, no employee is over 40. EcoReview is a young dynamic organization, with short lines and fast project lead times thanks to a streamlined data collection.

Sectors

Thanks to economic incentives from governments when restocking of tenders, the LCA methodology is the most developed for the construction industry. Therefore, the majority of the EcoReview’s customers are in the construction industry. Since it is the best method for calculating environmental impact, it starts to become more common, other sectors are quickly following by using PEFCRs.

Sensorfact

An important aspect of the LCA research is the calculation of the energy consumption, the consumption of natural gas and water during the production process. When this data is not available, Sensorfact helps to monitor and collect it. EcoReview is an official partner of Sensorfact.
