With a total yearly budget of €85 billion in public procurement, 18% of the annual Dutch environmental impact and 23% of the Dutch raw material usage is caused by these procurements.

Why does sustainable commissioning start with a request from LCA / MKI in projects?
Purchasing organizations still lack sustainable “monitoring” data (step 4).
- Result: unclear whether objectives are being achieved (step 1)
- Result: Policy must be drawn up “blind” (step 2)
- Result: insufficient sustainability frameworks for commissioning (step 3a)
